Cute kitties make the best photos. But cat toys and accessories can be a bit twee. So if your home is contemporary and stylish you might not want to ruin it all with a beige cat tree. Modern furniture design is improving and now that goes for pet products, too.

While pet furniture can lack style, I reckon these cat beds are purr-fect.

Caught in the cat-act!

Parisian design house Meyou has created a collection of cat beds that are stylish, attractive and the perfect place for your classy kitty to laze. Their collection of loungers look very high end, and I was excited to see that the group’s Kickstarter and campaign goals have already been met, and production and shipping is underway! A sure sign that this is a new direction for pet accessories.

I am in love with The Bed, it’s like a cozy cat cave pedestal! The covering is made of wool felt, so it has a sleek look to it and has a nice texture.

The other two models are based around a soft cocoon shape, that is set in a cube or a more softer, wooden frame. The dynamic is striking, and much nicer than those big old traditional twine scratching posts.

It’s been fun to see the progress photos, as they post the ins and outs of the manufacturing process. Especially loving the cotton balls being dried with resin, as they have used balloons to let them hang and drip dry. Super pretty.

Can’t wait to see what Meyou come up with next. Maybe they’ll tackle demand for a litter box that you don’t have to hide in the corner – that would be meow-velous! What do you reckon?
