Driftwood is unique, as each bit of wood has been naturally shaped and smoothed and weathered by the waves. It means that when you order something made from driftwood, you know it’s going to be an individual piece that only you have the exact replica of.
Etsy itself is a trove of hand-made goodness, and this round up is a selection of Etsy Finds that use pieces of driftwood for your home decor. Bring home some of the summer sun and fun with these unique Etsy Finds.
Greek Etsy maker Feel Felt Felt has created these driftwood mobiles using colorful felt. The colors are bright and the rounded softness pairs well with the washed wood. Also in the store is a DIY kit so you can put together the mobile and colors just the way you like.
Boats come and go with the tide, but I’d like this mini fishing boat from 2 of 2 to stay, please. The driftwood was collected in Cape Cod, and has been sawn and sanded down to size. The little copper funnels work as holders to keep two glass vases, so the glass can be removed for cleaning out and adding water easily for plants.
A diamond in the drift? Wall art in the shape of a cloud by Star Home Studio. They have incorporated jewel raindrop pendants with found wood to make something cheerful out of a rainy day.
A small lamp that casts a spell, what a striking shadow! The spherical lamp from Driftheart is made from smaller pieces of driftwood glued into shape. With a stronger light it will create the contrasts, but using a lower lumen will give it a warm glow feel.
While not exactly driftwood, this clock uses a photograph of driftwood and sea urchins taken at the beach on the Greek island of Lesvos. Aeolia has a series of clocks using beach photo montage images.
Canadian creator Atypiq has used the natural curves of driftwood to create the shapes of this stag head. It’s a good meeting ground for home decor enthusiasts who love nature but are not so excited about taxidermy.
Do you use your driftwood as succulent planters? I like the Morrison Makers hangers that are made using copper wire. They come in a set of three so you can hang them in a cluster for instant awesome and whimsical boho chic.
For another hanging feature, I like this beach wood wreath by Salty Girl and Long Dog. It would also look great with a mirror in the middle and hung in the bathroom.
This is an example of beachy vibes that would make a great statement piece. The cotton macramé will look lovely hanging above the bed, and you can always trim down some of the chords to make it the right height for the room.
