A Miami Penthouse With Laid Back Beach Vibes and Art Deco Details

Today’s home tour is the South Beach Penthouse Suite from the exclusive neighborhood in South of Fifth, in Miami. A businessman bought the place up to create his perfect beach home, and through the planning and construction of this apartment has a new found passion for interior design. The blue hues found throughout the apartment match his desire for an Art Deco inspired home with classic tones, while also incorporating a range of rich fabrics and modern pieces.

Using an earthy base palette with brown undertones, the penthouse apartment immediately livens the senses of a relaxed South Beach vibe.

The balcony hints at blue skies and a stunning ocean view. The owner reached out to designer Eilyn Cueto to turn the place around in only 60 days. In that time, Cueto has become good friends with the owner as they found they were able to see eye to eye on many of the design ideas.

The view is definitely one you’ll want to hang out in!

One of the trickiest bits of the renovation was the extremely old plumbing. It required a complete overhaul to make this modern space suitable for contemporary living.

The open plan kitchen is one of the favorite bits of the home for both the owner and designer. The counter tops are made from imported Calacatta marble, with a simple matte finish.

The slimline hallway table is a must for your corridor. It helps to give you that extra space for decorating and those catchall items you need to place when you enter the doorway. The gold trim is in keeping with the overall decor, and anchors the feeling of understated glamour in the penthouse.

A big round mirror mimics the porthole window, which is perfect for natural light illuminating the room and a cheerful start to the morning.

The shower tiles in both bathrooms are inspired by patterns from the Art Deco era.

The fresh blues of the condo’s balconies really sell the ambiance of this corner of Miami. What a welcome reminder that you’re relaxing in the Sunshine State!
