We’re on the lookout for the upcoming gadgets and tech items that will transform our homes. From solar powered lights to smart alarm clocks, here are 7 projects due this year we can’t wait to try out for ourselves!
1. Purifying the Air
We’ve all heard the saying “health is wealth”, which is why we’re aiming for a healthy year with the fewest sick days possible. We look forward to VBreathe making its way into our homes to filter the air, but are excited to see that it also removes odours, and uses essential oils to deter mosquitoes and prevent mold. Wifi and Bluetooth-enabled, its accompanying app is sleek and straightforward. Cleaner air at the push of a button? Yes please!
2. Smarter Mornings
We’re all too familiar with hitting the snooze button only to end up regretting it when we find ourselves stuck in traffic. Well, not to worry because Bonjour Smart Alarm Clock makes sure that never happens again. With the idea that your alarm clock can check weather conditions, and track traffic it will wake you up early enough to warn you of congestion so that you will not miss your meetings. It will remind you of what’s in your planner, which is why you set the alarm so early in the first place! It integrates with your calendar, other smart products and can even help you order an Uber. Voice activated personal assistants are becoming more popular, and it’ll be great to see Bonjour lift off and help lift us out of bed in the morning.
3. Morning Coffee
For some of us that smell of morning coffee is enough to rouse us from slumber. The Barisieur alarm clock brews your coffee so it’s the first thing by your side when you wake up. As soon as you hit that alarm button, you can enjoy that fresh hot coffee or tea right by your bed. And yes, there is even a spot to store the milk. Getting into a good routine before bedtime sets you up for a good night’s sleep, which just makes that morning coffee even more delightful.
4. Magnetic Lighting
D-Twelve is a modular magnetic lighting system that’s also versatile and customizable. We’re really liking the geometric design of these lamps that can be combined together. You only need to connect one module to the power source, and magnets attached to subsequent modules will allow the current to pass through and light up the rest. So to create that showstopper chandelier, you can combine three or more modules and hang them any way you like! Cool right? We think so too.
5. Solar Powered Lamp
Solar is leading the way to becoming the cheapest power on the planet. In an attempt to reduce our carbon footprint in our New Year’s resolutions we think the Ellum Solar Light could help out! The lamps need one full day of solar charge for a full 6 months of use; that’s great news when compared to gadgets and gizmos that seem to guzzle batteries. Either attached by a magnetic mount for use at home, or carried as a portable tool for light on the go, harnessing the sun for after hours darkness is incredible.
6. Growing Plants Indoors
We’re not all gifted with a green thumb at NONAGON.style, which is why we’re adding Fogbox to our list. Do you find it tricky to get into the habit of regularly watering your plants? Maybe you don’t have enough light in your apartment to grow the perfect plant. We like that with the aeroponics system, you only need to add water once or twice a week and the machine does the work for you, working up a mist that keeps those herbs hydrated.
7. Goodbye Cable Clutter
Messy cables are quite a modern day predicament. Here’s a cable management system that’s easy on the eyes; Eclipse is a minimal, fast charging, USB-C port that charges up to 3 devices at a time. It keeps up to 24 feet of cables untangled and hidden from sight. In walnut wood and black marble finishes, we’re excited to add this to the list of must have items to keep our homes clutter-free.
We’re excited to see these products enter the market this year, and while a handful of them are still in their manufacturing and production stages they’re on their way. You’ve seen it here first! Let us know which ones you love, in the comments below!
