There’s plenty to be excited about in the latest drama series ‘Riverdale’, inspired by the characters of the much loved Archie Comics. Except this time, Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead live in a more sinister version of Riverdale. A small town surrounded by mystery, crime, and plenty of high school drama. From preppy fashion to luxurious interiors, the series treats fans with a fascinating look inside the lives of their favorite characters. If you’ve ever gotten a glimpse of those beautifully nostalgic spaces, you’ll understand why fans keep coming back for more.
In this feature, we dive straight into our favorite ‘Riverdale’ interiors, as well as some tips to recreating the look at home. Scroll down to see our picks.
Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe
Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe is the town’s go-to spot for the ultimate comfort food. Think delicious burgers and creamy milkshakes. It’s also where Archie and his gang regularly hang out.
Clad in neon signs and vinyl furniture, Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe looks like it’s been stuck in the 1950s — but that’s all part of its charm. The red diner booths even come with their own jukebox which explain why the place is a town favorite. After all, who wouldn’t want to take a nostalgic walk down memory lane?
Going red and white in the kitchen is a no-fail trick to get the retro look. Especially since most diners back in the day sport this vibrant color scheme. If you want to take the look up a notch, throw in patterned cafe curtains, polka dotted hand towels and striped lamps.
Nothing hails retro vintage more than a formica dining table set, with a sleek chrome leg finish. With a kitchen and dining space like this, you’ll be craving for a milkshake every day.
Riverdale High School Recreation Room
If Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe is stuck in the 1950s, Riverdale High School never left its 1940s state.
In the series, Riverdale High School was said to be founded in 1941 so that probably explains why the recreation room has a worn-in vibe that make it perfect for lounging around. The fabric sofa, wooden cabinets and patterned rugs regularly make an appearance whenever Archie and his friends are presumably taking breaks in between their classes.
To get that classic look, opt for a sofa that acts as the room’s focal point. In this interior, a tufted leather sofa is paired with a vintage trunk that does double duty as a coffee table. Plaid cushions, and patterned area rugs also work well to give the room a timeless feel.
Cheryl Blossom’s Thornhill Bedroom
Cheryl Blossom, Riverdale’s resident mean girl, lives with her family in the luxurious Blossom Mansion.
Like the rest of the house, Cheryl’s bedroom exudes an almost gothic elegance with dark walls and an intricate French-style bed frame.
Luckily, French-style bed frames are aplenty. Just make sure to look for a tufted double ended bed frame to get that same glamorous vibe. Pillows are also essential, loads of them.
Lodge Family Dining Room at The Pembrooke
Contrary to the hauntingly dark residence of the Blossom family, Veronica’s apartment at The Pembrooke features classic French chic interiors.
The room features neutral patterned walls paired with white furnishings, which give the room an elegant modern feel. But the stylish dining set is what really steals the show. French oval back dining chairs surround a nicely clothed dining table, and to top it off, an ornate chandelier to complete the look.
If you’ve ever wanted French-style interiors, the dining room is a great place to start. The trick is finding a dining set you love, and decorating around it. This dining room features rustic oval back dining chairs and complements it with wooden candle holders and a round dining table.
Cool toned neutrals work best to give interiors that carefree look the French are known for, but you can go a few shades darker than white with a gray toned dining room. Just be sure to pick your metal hardware carefully, a chandelier with gold details should be paired with gold fittings for a cohesive look.
