Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and this year we’re celebrating the year of the dog. Yes, it’s not just the West who are under the spell of some puppy love; according to Chinese astrology, dogs are known to be loyal, smart, sensitive and brave, which is why they enjoy a coveted spot in the Chinese zodiac lineup. To celebrate the upcoming year of all things canine, I’ve put together a list of my favorite dog decor for the new year and beyond. They’re so paw-sitively paw-some, I guarantee you won’t be able to resist!

Dog Egg Cups

Add some fun to the breakfast table with these adorable dog print egg cups.

Designed by award-winning British illustrator Fenella Smith, this set of four features a collection of her most popular dog designs, so you can be sure there’s a pup to suit everyone. My personal favorite is the monocled pug!

Dachshund Pillow

Controversial opinion alert: I think the dachshund might possibly be one of the cutest dog breeds ever (the short legs get me every time!). So I was obviously morally obligated to include this cute-as-a-button Dachshund Pillow into the mix of doggy decor.

This pillow is 100% handmade by Vancouver-based illustrator, Crystal Ho. Dogs not your thing? Crystal also has a range of other animal-themed textiles featuring flamingos, pandas and more!

‘Fetch’ Dog Coasters

For fetching touch of eclectic kitsch in your dog decor, look no further than these Kim Seybert dog coasters.

Big Top Ceramic Balloon Dog Bookend

Inspired by the classic art of balloon animal making, these cute dog bookends are a playful addition to a bookshelf or desk setup.

Dog-a-Day Dish Towel

Drying the dishes just got a whole lot more interesting thanks to this vibrant doggie dish towel.

This tea towel has been designed by acclaimed dog portraitist, Sally Muir. As well as having the best sounding job title ever, Sally doesn’t discriminate when it comes to choosing doggy subjects. In her project, ‘A Dog a Day’, Sally drew a different dog each day for a year! Her work can be found printed on a range of textiles and tableware. Check out Anthropologie for more.

Personalized Pet Mug

If you’re an actual doggie owner then you’re going to love this next pick: a custom personalized pet mug by Etsy seller Mugsy Supply House.

Whilst there are a plethora of doggy mug suppliers out there, Mugsy Supply House made the cut because of their custom option – you can choose to swap the name of the breed for your own pet’s name. How cute it that?

Luminose Dog Lamp

This one’s for all the dog-loving tech heads out there. Let me introduce Luminose, the dog lamp with personality.

This quirky wooden table lamp can even sit and stretch, adjusting perfectly to your lighting needs. As an added bonus, the light source comes from an eco-friendly LED panel which uses 85 per cent less energy than your typical table lamp.

Dachshund Bath Sheet

Again with the dachshunds – sorry! But this super soft Bath Sheet by Emily Bond was just too cozy and adorable to resist.

A fellow dachshund lover, Emily Bond’s doggie collection is inspired by her very own furry friends, Oscar and George. I love that the print here is subtly elegant – perfect for injecting just a touch of rustic country chic into your interior aesthetic.
