October Design Events 2018
Archtober, October 1 – 31

A month long celebration of architecture and design sounds like our kind of party. Now in its eighth iteration, Archtober is the perfect event for experts and novices alike.
Visitors can look forward to daily building tours and lectures by design experts, in addition to architecture-themed competitions and parties. What’s more, for those intrigued by what happens behind the scenes, a different architecture firm will be opening their studio to the public every Wednesday of the month. We can’t think of a better opportunity for budding architects to get the inside track!

Biennale Interieur, October 18 – 22
Founded in 1967 with the aim of bringing contemporary interior design to the general public, the Biennale Interieur is a staple of the design event calendar.
Now in its 26th iteration, this year’s event promises to be a ‘who’s who of the design world’. Look out for the awards ceremony where accolades such as Designer of the Year will be bestowed upon the industry’s finest.

Designart, October 19 – 28
It’s hard to believe that this is only the second year of Designart, yet this hot ticket event is expected to draw over 70,000 visitors to the Japanese capital for a week of arty fun.
The festival was originally conceived to ‘revitalize the creative scene in Tokyo’, and we think we can safely say it will do just that. Overall, expect to discover new emerging artists alongside established heavyweights showcasing artwork related to the concept of ‘Emotions’.

Dutch Design Week, October 20 – 28
Round out the month with a stop off at Dutch Design Week. With over 335,000 visitors enjoying the work of more than 2600 designers, this has to be the biggest design event in Northern Europe.
We especially love this design event for its emphasis on the designs of the future. The focus here is on experimentation, innovation and cross-overs in an effort to stoke the imaginations of guests and show them creative design like they’ve never seen before.
