March Design Events 2019

Design Shanghai, March 6 – 9 2019

Shanghai Exhibition Centre, Shanghai, China

Claiming its place as Asia’s biggest design event, Design Shanghai sees more than 400 leading design brands and galleries from over 30 countries and designers across six themed halls: Contemporary, Classic & Luxury, Collectibles, Kitchen & Bathroom, Workplace and New Materials & Applications. From March 6-9 , Design Shanghai 2019 will be celebrating its 6th anniversary with exciting new content. Set across six remarkable design sections, Design Shanghai 2019 is set to be the biggest and best yet.

Singapore Design Week, March 4–17  2019

Singapore Design Week (SDW) is a hub where the best design talents and businesses from Singapore and Asia converge. Now in its 6th edition, this year’s event will run from March 4 to 17th 2019 at the new National Design Centre, and feature trade shows, conferences, showcases, exhibitions and workshops. Melbourne Design Week, March 14-24

Melbourne Design Week is Australia’s leading annual international design event, and is created to highlight the best design in Australia. Posing the thematic question “Design Experiments: How Can Design Shape the Future?” the 2019 Melbourne Design Week will present its largest program to date, with more than 200 events.

Art Basel Hong Kong, March 29-31 2019

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, Hong Kong

Set to run from March 29 to March 31 at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Center, Art Basel Hong Kong 2019 will be bringing the a fresh mix of galleries from six continents featuring artwork by established as well as new-comer artists from across the globe, with some 250 galleries expected to participate under seven themed sections: Galleries, Discoveries, Insights, Encounters, Kabinett, Magazines, and Film.

Copenhagen Architecture Festival, April 4–14 2019

Copenhagen, Denmark

For a sixth year in a row, the 10-day Copenhagen Architecture Festival (CAFx) will feature over 220 events, from exhibitions to film screenings, workshops, city walks, bicycle tours, debates and more across Denmark (Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg and Odense). CAFx aims to rethink the way architecture is presented and communicated, and how architecture makes a difference with human life, aesthetics and politics.

Milan Design Week, April 9-14 2019

Milan, Italy

Milan Design Week is regarded as the most important event in the design world, which now boasts more than 1,300 exhibitors. The weeklong fair has become an annual get-together of all things design-related. Regular highlights include installations by COS, Lee Broom and Design Academy Eindhoven and exhibitions by Ventura Projects.


The star at the center of the festival is the Milan Furniture Fair, ‘Salone del Mobile.Milano’, founded to promote Italian furniture and furnishings. In its 58th edition this year, the international event takes place in the “Capital of Design” – Milan.

Art Cologne, April 11-14 2019

Internationaler Kunstmarkt, Cologne, Germany

Art Cologne is an art fair featuring contemporary art from the 20th and 21st century. The 2019 edition of Art Cologne runs from April 11 to 14, which will feature a total of 176 galleries and also a section called “Collaborations” highlighting joint efforts between galleries and artists. Paintings, sculptures and installations, videos, as well as photography, and works on paper editions and multiples are represented.
