After working for four years under award-winning firm SANAA, Japanese architect Junya Ishigami founded junya.ishigami+associates in 2004. Subsequent installations and designs hone in on nature, transparency and lightness, often creating floating-like structures like the Serpentine Pavilion 2019. Ishigami has exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale and won the Golden Lion Award for Best Project reflecting the admiration for the piece’s opacity and lightness.
