Ken Ueno is a Japanese-American composer and sound artist. His music celebrates artistic possibilities, challenging the traditional paradigms of beauty and the perception of music. Much of Ken’s music is “person-specific”, where a performance is tailored to the specific skill set and aura of a performer.
Winner of the 2006-2007 Rome Prize and the 2010-2011 Berlin Prize, Ueno’s music has been performed around the world. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and an M.M.A. from the Yale School of Music, and his biography appears in The Grove Dictionary of American Music.
