Founded in 2005 by Maria João Andrade and Ricardo Cordeiro, MJARC Architects is an architecture studio based in Porto, Portugal. Each project is given a fresh beginning. They use the location and the existing space as a starting point, as each place dictates a new approach. It’s this renewal and the idea of continual innovation that guides the MJARC Architects spirit.
In following this style, Andrade and Cordeiro see the projects open up to a broad field of research, and this experimentation is what motivates them. Aware of the importance of the architect’s work in designing sustainable buildings, they test new materials and solutions that to minimize the environmental impact and increase the energy sustainability of each project.
