Have you ever noticed how the most wonderful time of the year also masquerades as the most stressful time of the year? All that gift wrapping, cooking and decorating can really take its toll, which is why I scoured the internet for the best festive hacks to make Christmas prep that bit easier this year. Think of it as an early gift from me to you. Read on for more.
The Wreath Hanging Hack
Simply use a removable Command hook to hang your wreath from the other side of the door. Check out this tutorial for more info.
The Bauble Hack
Run out of baubles to trim the tree with?
The Centerpiece Hack
Between roasting the turkey and feeding the Christmas pudding, the last thing you want to be worrying about come Christmas day is the table decor for your festive feast.
That doesn’t mean the Christmas tablescape should be neglected completely though. Instead, take a leaf from our winter tablescape DIY and fashion a simple centerpiece out of a vase and some fairy lights. The result is a minimal effort, maximum impact centerpiece that has all the Scandi-vibes.
The Gift Wrapping Hack
No wrapping paper left? No worries.
Have you ever heard of the Japanese art of furoshiki? Furoshiki is a traditional way of wrapping parcels and gifts using only a single piece of cloth. Simply take a pretty tea towel, pillowcase or any other scrap cloth you might have lying around and follow this easy tutorial. Pretty, practical and eco-friendly, I actually prefer this method of gift wrapping anyway.
The Storage Hack
After all the excitement of Christmas comes the less-fun task of putting all the decorations away.
To ensure your Christmas baubles and ornaments remain safe and damage-free until next year, store them in empty egg cartons. Egg carton boxes also stack nicely on top of each other, making them perfect for fitting inside your Christmas decorations box.
