Jess loves good design! She spends her weekends exploring the sights, sounds and architecture of the world. Another favorite activity is taste-testing local delicacies.

As if we needed another reason to put the Big Apple on our travel wishlist, along comes luxury furniture fair, ICFF. Taking place from May 20 to May 23, it’s one of the biggest platforms for luxury design in North America. Boasting a heady mix of over 800 exhibitors and more than 36,000 industry peers, ICFF is basically the place to go for a whistle stop tour of the very latest interior design trends. And we’ve got an exclusive first look just for you.

From stylish smart home accessories to an Art Deco revival, this year promises to be the most exciting iteration yet. But what really caught our eye was the abundance of nature-inspired collections set to showcase this weekend – perfect for spring! Let’s take a look at our favorites.

John Sheppard

Nature meets brutalism in New York-based ceramic artist, John Sheppard’s, ICFF collection.

Originally trained as a graphic designer, his current work largely consists of clean geometric shapes inspired by nature. For his upcoming ICFF collection, John promises to showcase more of the same, though this time it’ll be in unglazed white porcelain form. Look out for this striking sculptural chandelier, complete with black oxide burnout detailing and custom brass hardware. It’ll no doubt be a standout piece.

Abigail Edwards

From sea to shining sea, Abigail Edwards’ ICFF showcase is inspired by all things aquatic.

Known for her hand drawn wallpaper and fabric designs, Abigail’s whimsical aesthetic is an ode to nature and fairy tales. The ‘Seascape’ collection, for instance, takes its cue from the rolling waves of a tempestuous sea. Even better, all her designs are sourced from sustainably-managed forests. Eco-friendly and enchanting – now that’s our idea of a fairy tale.

Glow Room

When it comes to accessories, there’s nothing we love more than ceramics.

Enter Glow Room – a limited edition collection of ceramic art crafted by artist Robbie Heidinger. Robbie’s studio is surrounded by stretches of wilderness, so it’s not surprising to see nature in his designs. At this year’s ICFF you can look forward to seeing a decorative – almost tribal – interpretation of his typically minimalist design style.

Sonneman

This one’s for all the stargazers out there. Sonneman’s ICFF collection looks to the stars for its latest set of lighting creations.

Sonneman is a go-to for sleek functional lighting design, and the ‘Constellation’ series is no exception. Expect to see the beautifully chaotic constellations of the night sky mimicked by intricate clusters of satin nickel rods dotted with white optical LEDs. Simply magical!

Skargaarden

With summer on the horizon, many of us are starting to think about spending more time outdoors, making Skargaarden’s collection of Scandinavian outdoor design pieces particularly timely.

Given the cooler climes of Northern Europe, Skargaarden is inspired by nature in a production-focused way as opposed to a visual sense. The wind and salt of Sweden’s west coast, for instance, prompts the aluminum and sunbrella-clad Salto series set to showcase at ICFF. Overall, durability and resilience are the name of the game here, all wrapped up in an understated minimalist bow.
