Project:

Miami Beach Private Residence

Rich textures and sandy-hued tones make this Miami Beach private residence a warm and inviting space, inspired by minimalist interior architecture. Charles Allem from C.A.D. International was tasked with creating an open plan beach house, to provide the perfect backdrop for entertaining with a casual ocean-front lifestyle, incorporating natural colors with luxury living. The result is a perfect Miami beach house.

Kicking off the tour of this home, a “wood-paneled portal” frames the entrance to the perfect chef’s kitchen. Pairing the warmth of the timber against the sleek metallics of the room’s hardware, and brushed limestone surfaces, diners are presented with an immersive experience showcasing minimalist design to its fullest. The room reflects strength, balance and luxury.

One of the greatest parts of this home is the immaculate lines and shapes balanced with rich textures. In this entertaining room, with a wine cellar subdued into the background, the room opens up to glorious unobscured panoramic views of the ocean, thanks to the glass balconies and floor to ceiling windows.

In the Great Room, we see the striking cantilevered staircase as a backdrop to the room’s finery. The addition of the staircase was a great feat, as the original building was gutted and reformatted to achieve the open plan spaciousness of the main room. Once CAD International successfully overcame a few structural obstacles, the new staircase made from stone becomes an architectural piece of art. Charles Allem notes that “this allowed the space to be a large open plan with uninterrupted views of the glass front pool and sweeping ocean views.”

The home’s strength is in its simplicity of form and design, allowing certain shapes and lush textures to shine, all supporting the natural backdrop outside. The colors and patterns are like a Mondrian painting.

Unveiling the finished home was a moving moment for the design team, as well as the home owners. “The clients were speechless — walking around the residence for about 15 minutes with their jaws dropped and tears running down their eyes,” explains Allem. “They were overwhelmed with joy and excitement.”

From the entertaining spaces you have these absolutely gorgeous uninterrupted views to the outdoor area. The glass front pool view from here echoes the look of the beach, and entices you outside. “Looking back at the project, I would have included more outdoor seating,” recommends Charles Allem. Additional seating aside, this is the place to be.

Even the smallest details from textured rugs that pair admirably with the curtains, to the striking art-like staircase in the center wall of the home, each element in this Miami Beach residence has been carefully honed by the team at C.A.D. International to create a vision of luxury living balancing beauty and simplicity. A casual beach life style has been summed up, and the home provides the perfect backdrop for living; from morning sunrises from the master suite, to cocktail sundowners at the end of the day.
