Hygge is home for Vanessa. If you're wondering how she likes to keep her house, think tidy and uncluttered. She even has a personal Pinterest board featuring only white colored homes, appealing to her minimal design aesthetic.

Depending on the how big your space is, the dining room can serve as an extension of a sophisticated open plan kitchen or a cosy nook meant for intimate gatherings. In this week’s interior render by, a pared down dining room takes us back to basics with natural elements, perfect for snug apartments. Let’s take a look.

Textured Wood and Mixed Chairs Balance Simplicity and Style

In homes with smaller spaces, the dining room often takes on a more functional design. There’s not a lot of room for extra furniture, so the dining space often only consists of the essentials – a table, dining chairs and a few lighting pieces.

But having a small dining space doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style, you can still play around with textured materials like live edge tables. In this dining room, a live edge table is complemented with a wooden bench and black wishbone chairs which add depth and interest to the space. To complete the zen look, glass lamps are hung above the table, framed nicely with beautiful illustrations on the wall.
